University of Halabja Launches Training Course for Aspiring Lawyers

HALABJA — Today, Sunday, July 5, 2026, a professional training course for aspiring lawyers commenced at the Mock Court of the Law Department. The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Rezan Saeed Hamasharif, Head of the Law Department, and Mr. Dilshad Hamid Darwish, Director of the Center for Genocide and International Crimes Research.

​At the launch of the course, Mr. Dilshad Hamid Darwish delivered the welcoming remarks, highlighting the core objectives and importance of this training program. Following his speech, Dr. Rezan Saeed Hamasharif welcomed the attendees and expressed her gratitude to the judges and instructors participating in the course.

​Later in the session, Judge Dr. Awat Omar Haji delivered the first lecture, presenting a comprehensive academic and practical overview of the subject matter.

​At the conclusion of the first day, Prof. Dr. Bamo Parwez Khan, President of Halabja University, presented an honorary award to Judge Dr. Awat Omar Haji in recognition of his valuable contribution and role in ensuring the success of the course.

​It is worth noting that the training will continue for several weeks. A group of experienced judges will conduct lectures and practical training sessions for law students and graduates, aiming to elevate their academic and professional skills.
