University of Halabja Hosts the 2nd International Scientific Conference on Sports Science

​Under the theme "Sports for Sustainable Development," the University of Halabja’s College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences launched its 2nd International Scientific Conference on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Held at Rwanga Hall, the opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture and Youth, Mr. Hama Hama Saeed; the President of the University of Halabja, Prof. Dr. Bamo Parwezkhan; representatives from participating universities; administrative officials of Halabja Governorate; faculty members; and students.

​The conference commenced with a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs. This was followed by keynote speeches from the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, the Presidency of the University of Halabja, Kurdistan Universities, and Nour Ashur University. The event also featured a documentary film screening, and the first day concluded with the presentation of honorary shields to several distinguished figures.

​The conference will span over three days, featuring the presentation of 52 research papers from 30 different universities across six countries.
