President of University of Halabja Welcomes New British Ambassador to Iraq and Consul General

​Today, Wednesday, July 19, 2026, at the Presidency of Halabja University, Prof. Dr. Bamo Parwez Khan, President of Halabja University, received Mr. Irfan Siddiq, the new Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Iraq, Ms. Holly Vere, the British Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, and Ms. Nuksha Nasih, the Governor of Halabja.

​The meeting was attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarkew Abdulkarim (Dean of the College of Science), Asst. Prof. Dr. Ako Faqi Muhammed (Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences), Asst. Prof. Dr. Shwan Nuri (Dean of the College of Humanities), and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Muhammed Salih (Head of the Research and Development Center). Discussions highlighted the importance of developing academic relations and coordination between Halabja University and British academic and diplomatic institutions.

​During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening academic cooperation, advancing scientific research, and creating new opportunities for faculty members and students.
